Gracia ‘at home’ at Malaga

Javi Gracia said he feels ‘at home’ at Malaga and that was a major reason why he renewed his contract.

It was on Monday confirmed that Gracia had signed a new deal until 2019, his previous terms expiring this summer, and the trainer appeared before the Press to discuss his extension.

“The first thing is to be grateful to the club, owners, sports officials, the staff, players and fans,” he said, AS reports.

“They’re responsible for the value of my work. From day one I felt at home, I felt like one more and that’s what’s made me happy.

“I’m proud to coach a big club like Malaga. Train every day, to keep improving and to keep going for more. I feel valued at all levels, contractually and personally. I felt it from the first day.

“I don’t feel tired. I feel as excited as the first day, with the same desire or better to work. That’s why I have hope for improvement. Daily work makes us better and I hope over time it has made me a better Coach and a Malaguista.

“This is an ambitious club and I want to stay here. My goal is to beat Real Betis. That’s the way to be ambitious. It doesn’t just depend on our performance but other factors.

“The whole club is aware of the situation and we want the greatest stability for the future and to improve in all aspects. We’re on the same line.”
