Luka Modric has thanked Real Madrid and President Florentino Perez after signing a four-year contract extension with the club.
The Croatian midfielder arrived at the Bernabeu in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur, with this latest deal ensuring he will remain a Los Blancos player until 2018.
“I’m very happy,” Modric said to Realmadrid TV. “Today is a very important day for me. I want to thank the club and the President Florentino Perez for the confidence they have placed in me.
“I want to repay this confidence by giving the best of myself over the coming years.
"When I joined Real Madrid all my dreams became a reality. These two years have been magnificent, I have enjoyed every moment.
"Hopefully in the next two years we can win a lot more titles."
