Real Madrid are waiting for official offers for Sami Khedira after a message was sent in the European Super Cup.
The World Cup winning Germany international was left out of the squad to play Sevilla and Marca report that Khedira’s exclusion should be taken as a sign he is free to leave Santiago Bernabeu.
Khedira has thus far refused to extend a contract that expires next summer and Madrid don’t want to lose him for fee.
Madrid are also unhappy with the strategy taken by the Khedira camp and want the midfielder to lower his wage demands and sign a new deal.
If he declines to do so then Madrid will let him go, as indicated by his absence from the win over Los Rojiblancos.
Angel Di Maria is also on the brink of leaving the club but he was named in the squad, as a substitute in the 2-0 win.
Madrid are gambling that the threat of leaving Khedira on the sidelines for a year will be enough to change the situation, either to push a new contract or conclude a transfer out of the club, as Khedira risks losing his place in the Germany side if he isn’t playing at club level.
