Bale: A dream come true

Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale has described the feeling of lifting the European Super Cup in front of his home town Cardiff crowd as a ‘dream come true.’

Bale was part of the Madrid XI that last night saw off Sevilla with two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Marca reports Bale as telling UEFA’s official website that the victory was for him extra special because he was playing in front of his compatriots.

“[Cristiano] game by game shows what he is capable of. The team got their reward for working as hard as anyone in the world,” Bale said.

“Being here is a dream come true. Everyone comes to Real Madrid to win trophies, so we’ll try to win all that are at stake this season.”

Madrid are competing for five more trophies now this season, the Supercopa, Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League and Club World Cup.
