Andres Iniesta has confirmed that Luis Suarez is ‘dying to play again’ as he looks to overturn a four-month ban.
The Uruguay international has been stopped from all football-related activity after biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.
And after completing an €88m move to Barcelona, his new teammate has revealed that the ex-Liverpool man is desperate to get back on the pitch.
“I have spoken to him, he is dying to begin,” Iniesta told reporters.
Suarez was in Switzerland at the weekend to give a statement to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, where he hopes to have his ban reduced.
Iniesta meanwhile, also spoke of new signing Ivan Rakitic, who seems to have settled in at Camp Nou seamlessly.
“His quality has not surprised me. We all know how good he is and we are delighted to have him here.
“He is physically very strong and can dominate in both halves of the pitch.”
