Malaga were last night beaten by Fiorentina in the Unesco Cup, going down to a 2-0 defeat against the Serie A side.
Goals from former Villarreal pair Giuseppe Rossi and Gonzalo Rodriguez did the damage, with Borja Valero and former Malaga winger Joaquin also in the visitors’ squad.
Malaga had summer signing Guillermo Ochoa in goal and Luis Alberto, signed on loan from Liverpool, played the second-half.
