Jimenez set for Atletico?

Mexico international striker Raul Jimenez is set for an €11m move from Club America to Atletico Madrid, reports in Spain claim.

AS say Atletico had considered Fernando Torres and Roberto Soldado as options to solve their search for another striker but it is to Jimenez they have finally turned.

The move could be confirmed as soon as today and wrapped up next week, it’s believed, as his club have resigned themselves to his departure.

Jimenez, 23, played for Club America against Atletico earlier in the summer and the 23-year-old has also caught the eye of Valencia and Porto.

He has scored four goals in three games so far this season and in total has 32 in 93 for his club as well as an Olympic gold medal with Mexico, won in 2012.

Jimenez has spent his entire career at Club America, making his debut in 2010, and has 26 caps and four goals for the senior Mexico side, having this summer been included in El Tri’s World Cup squad.
