Claudio Bravo has acknowledged his error in Barcelona’s friendly defeat to Napoli but insisted goalkeepers’ mistakes are commonplace.
The Chile international, signed this summer from Real Sociedad, made a limp effort to save a Blerim Dzemaili’s long-range effort and couldn’t keep the ball out.
It was the only goal of the game and speaking after the match, Bravo told reporters that he isn’t the first goalkeeper to make a mistake and he won’t be the last.
“I was enjoying a comfortable match in which the little I had to do had gone smoothly,” AS reports Bravo as beginning.
“The goal was my mistake, definitely a lapse in concentration. The shot came from far out and I thought I had it covered.
“This is what it is to be a goalkeeper. You have to learn to live with these things.
“I’ve not had much time in training but that’s no excuse. It’s not the first time it’s happened and there is no goalkeeper who hasn’t made mistakes.”
