Spain Coach Vicente Del Bosque has paid tribute to midfielder Xavi, who today retired from international football.
The Barcelona man won one World Cup and two European Championships during a glittering Roja career.
“He is one of the biggest rocks we have had in the dressing room over these six years,” Del Bosque said of the 34-year-old.
“I want to show my appreciation for a fantastic player. We are losing a unique player, it is difficult to find another like him.
“He was a key man in the national team’s style of play who has given us so many successes.
“We will miss him a lot both on and off the field of play.”
