Jeremy Mathieu has admitted to a smoking habit, but the new Barcelona defender believes it won’t affect his performances.
The French centre-back joined the Blaugrana last month in a €20m move from Valencia.
And speaking to Mundo Deportivo at their training camp in England, the 30-year-old conceded that he is partial to a cigarette.
“Do I smoke? It's a bit of a personal thing. I'm not a smoker who smokes a pack every day,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“I haven't smoked for a fortnight right now. I've been caught and that's the way it is, but I don't smoke every day.
“I know that something has been published, but it doesn't matter.”
