Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke believes last season was almost perfect for the champions and a unique campaign.
Koke is in Mexico with his team ahead of a pre-season tour and told a Press conference that the players are as excited now as they were 12 months ago despite a turnover in the squad.
“I think last year was unique. We were almost a 10, but we all have the same excitement as last season,” AS reports Koke as saying.
“New people have come here, eager and hungry to fight for titles and we have the hope of continuing to fight and do things right.”
Koke also looked ahead to the Supercopa, expecting a hard game against Real Madrid.
“It will be different from last time since Madrid have signed people and Atletico have too,” he continued.
“There are people on the team, an important core that want to be here, and that’s important. We’ll be eager for the matches and the season.”
