Atletico Madrid have left for their Americas tour, but will be without new signings Mario Mandzukic and Tiago Mendes.
The champions travelled to Los Angeles overnight to start their EuroAmerica Cup friendlies.
Diego Simeone’s men play San Jose Earthquakes in San Francisco on Monday, before travelling down to Mexico City to face America on July 30.
But they will have to do so without the Croatia or Portugal internationals, who have both been left at home.
Diego Godin, Cristian Rodriguez and Jose Maria Gimenez will also stay in the capital.
16 first team names have travelled however, including new goalkeeper Jan Oblak, Koke, Arda Turan and Gabi.
