Malaga captain Weligton has admitted that everyone is excited for the new season, working under new Coach Javi Gracia.
The 44-year-old left Osasuna at the end of last season to take the reins at La Rosaleda from the out-going Bernd Schuster.
And the centre-back has insisted that the entire squad are desperate to get the new campaign underway.
“We’re all really excited, the Coach is working us very hard, which is how I like it,” he told reporters.
“We’re working really hard, focusing on ball work, which is what the coach wants. We’re all full of enthusiasm, and enjoying welcoming the new players.
“Everyone wants to train as well as they can. The manager is imposing his style of play on the team and is working us hard.
“The new signings are eager to earn their place on the squad. I hope everyone gives their all and we have a successful season.”
