Pedro reassured by Zubi

Pedro feels much more secure about his Barcelona future after sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta declared he wouldn’t be sold.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Pedro had suggested he didn’t know if he would stay at Camp Nou but speaking at a recent Press conference, Zubi described the winger as ‘non-transferable.’

Pedro has told MD that he feels much better about his status with La Blaugrana and now hopes to have a good season. He also welcomed the prospect of playing with Luis Suarez.

“They were some nice words to reassure me,” Pedro said of Zubi’s comments.

“The important thing is my job and when the time comes, to fight and compete like I always have, and hopefully have a good season.

“Suarez is a great striker and he’s shown it in England. He could do well at Barca.”

Pedro also empathised with Neymar, who suffered a fractured back in his last appearance for Brazil, likely ruling him out of the rest of the tournament.

“It’s a pity a teammate is injured. He wanted to help Brazil to the final,” Pedro lamented.

“I hope he recovers quickly.”
