Former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has passed a medical ahead of a move to Monaco.
Valdes left Camp Nou this summer after his contract expired and had long been linked with a switch to the principality.
But a serious knee injury suffered in March through the move into doubt, with reports at one point claiming Monaco had backed out of the deal.
Marca reports now, however, that Valdes has undergone and passed a medical and signed a preliminary agreement with the club prior to completing the move.
Valdes is expected to be fit to play in November and the transfer will be completed pending further medical evaluations.
Update: It's since been confirmed that Valdes failed his medical and won't join Monaco.
