Juan Mata has praised David Villa after the veteran striker scored on his last international appearance.
Spain beat Australia 3-0 on Monday thanks to goals from Villa, Fernando Torres and Mata himself.
And the Manchester United man has congratulated the New York City forward on his 59th Roja strike.
“Villa, for me, is unsurpassable for Spain,” he told reporters after the game.
Mata then commented on the game itself.
“Whatever the result we weren’t going to be happy.”
