Torres: We’ll come back stronger

Fernando Torres believes that Spain will bounce back ‘even stronger than before’ following their World Cup exit.

La Roja crashed out of the tournament after just two games, losing to both Netherlands and Chile.

But the Chelsea man has claimed that the national team will learn from the defeats and get back to winning ways.

“Any analysis carried out without letting a few days go by would be a mistake,” he is quoted as saying by Marca.

“We will listen to many different opinions, but I assure you that the group is hungry and hurt.

“We will bounce back even stronger because the players coming through are winners and I hope that many players who are in this World Cup will be able to carry on over the next years.

“This era had to end at one time or another. You can't win forever. Luckily, we can now look back and see what we have achieved over the last years.

“Before, when we were knocked out, there was nothing to look back on. Now we have a World Cup and two European Championships won by this group of players.

“I'm sure that those of us who take part in the next championship will be even stronger.

“There's a great new generation of players, we're a young team and sometimes taking such a severe beating is good for you in the long run. I hope that's the case.”
