Alvaro Arbeloa has supported claims made by Xabi Alonso regarding Spain’s mentality that have outraged the rest of the World Cup squad.
It’s been reported today that the Spain squad are unhappy with Alonso accusing the group of not being mentally prepared for the tournament as the holders fell at the group stage.
Andres Iniesta publically contradicted his national team colleague but Arbeloa, who retired from international football after he didn’t make the squad, took to Twitter to support his club mate.
“My respect and admiration for those who prefer telling the truth and causing discomfort rather than admiration by telling lies,” the right-back wrote.
