It has been confirmed that Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao is out for the rest of the World Cup.
The full-back was stretchered off in Portugal’s 4-0 loss to Germany on Monday, with initial reports that he could be out for 10 days.
However, an MRI scan has revealed that the 27-year-old has a grade two tear in his abductor muscle, and will be sidelined for a month.
The Seleccao could be set for an early exit from the tournament however, knowing that only a win against USA in their next game will do.
