Pedro: No anxiety, no mistakes

Barcelona and Spain winger Pedro has said La Roja’s players aren’t anxious after the defeat to the Netherlands but they can’t afford more mistakes.

Pedro went before reporters at the pre-match Press conference and said that the game against Chile on Wednesday is akin to a final.

“I don’t know if there’s anxiety but we only have one shot. It’s a final and we know we can’t mess up,” he said, according to AS.

“Chile are a hard side. We’ll prepare well because we don’t we won’t get another chance.

“They have a deep squad of players like Alexis Sanchez, Eduardo Vargas and Mauricio Isla. They have balance in the centre. We know them well and we’ve played them a few times.

“They’ll give us a game. I’m not going to say what faults we think they have.”

The game will be played in the Rio de Janeiro’s famous Maracana, a setting Pedro says he is always excited by but not one that has always been kind to Spain.

“It’s a legendary stadium and has a lot of history,” Pedro added.

“We’ve played and lost there. It’s a big pitch, which might be good for us.”
