Koke: Spain are united

Atletico Madrid and Spain midfielder Koke has said the World Cup holders are all pulling together after the defeat against the Netherlands.

In an interview with sponsors Adidas, Koke acknowledged the disappointment of the 5-1 reverse and warned against taking Chile for granted in the next Group B fixture.

But he said the squad is on the same page and eager to take to the field again.

“We didn’t leave things as we wanted but the group is strong, more united than ever and looking forward to our next game,” Koke went on, according to AS.

“Chile will be a tough opponent but if we match their intensity that and play like we know we can, that will be key.”

Koke added that he is hopeful of getting game time so he can make a contribution on the pitch.

“I’m proud of what I’m doing but I’m eager to win things,” he said.

“I have the dream of playing a large role in the World Cup and if I get an opportunity to play or help the group to win this World Cup it would be very important.

“Let us continue with the support from home or those who have come to Brazil.

“This team is going to give everything and has given their all before. We will continue to fight for the goal of winning the World Cup, because we are hungry and because this team deserves to give everything.”
