Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has reiterated that his side’s dismantling of Spain will mean nothing without a win against Australia.
The Oranje embarrassed La Roja 5-1 on Friday evening in their World Cup Group B opener.
But the Coach has insisted that they have to beat the Oceania outfit to make it worthwhile.
“I did not expect that it would go like that,” he told the gathering media.
“After the final whistle we had a very happy feeling. It could have been even more.
“This is a nice start, but we have nothing. If we do not beat Australia we have made no progress, but we obviously have a platform.”
