Miranda ‘wants Atleti exit’

Atletico Madrid defender Miranda wants to leave the club this summer, according to reports from Spain.

Marca say the Brazilian is pushing for a move to Manchester United or Barcelona and that the centre-back has informed the champions’ high command of his desire to move on.

Miranda revealed in an interview with ESPN Brazil that he has already received offers and hopes Atletico don’t hold him to the €30m release clause stipulated in his contract.

“I have some proposals and we’re negotiating,” he said. “I have offers from Spain, the Premier League and other countries. My agent is in Europe to resolve my future. My release clause is negotiable.”

Marca add that Miranda’s insistence that his release clause won’t have to be honoured has not gone done well at Vicente Calderon, and it has previously been promised to Diego Simeone that no player will be sold for less than the amount set by his contract.

Neither Barca nor United are willing to go as high as €30m for Miranda, who has two years remaining on his current deal.
