Del Bosque: WC has no equal

Spain Coach Vicente Del Bosque has said that the World Cup is on a level of its own when it comes to prestige and importance.

AS quotes Del Bosque as telling French publication Le Parisien that of all the tournaments with which he has been involved as a player and a Coach, the World Cup is the biggest.

“Nothing compares to a world title,” Del Bosque said. “We need to approach each competition as if it was our last. That we, we won’t get tired.”

Del Bosque also touched on a number of other subjects, from who will win the World Cup to the benefits of Spain’s players plying their trade outside La Liga.

“Sport is a short career, where everything goes very fast. The career of a footballer passes very quickly.

“There are a dozen teams that can win the World Cup. Brazil is definitely the country that’s ahead. Playing at home could also be an advantage.

“[Spain’s players moving abroad] has given us new qualities, so we don’t have a sense of inferiority to other nations.

“Mentally, it’s allowed us to overthrow the historical complex that the team could have.”
