Koke: Difficult to leave Atletico

Koke has said anyone wanting to tempt him away from Atletico Madrid will have a difficult task.

The Spain midfielder has this summer been the subject of transfer speculation, but told Candena Cope that he is content with life at Vicente Calderon and isn’t looking to move on.

“It’s very difficult to convince me [to leave Atleti],” Koke said.

“I have earned the right to be there, fighting for everything I have done. Right now there’s nothing more to say.

“I’ve heard what has been said but I am proud of my work and it’s paying off.

“But now I’m focused on the World Cup and not thinking of anything else. I’m trying to focus on La Seleccion.”

Koke is however one of a number of players linked with a move away from the champions, a situation he laughed at during the interview.

“It looks like they will sell the entire team and they won’t play next year, which is amazing,” he said.

“It’s a good group there. We must be calm and these are the normal things that come after what we have done, which is spectacular and hard to repeat. It means we’re doing things right.”
