Rakitic, Modric in Croatia WC squad

Sevilla captain Ivan Rakitic and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric have been confirmed in Croatia’s squad for the World Cup.

The pair are joined by Getafe’s Sammir as La Liga representatives in Coach Niko Kovac’s 23-man squad.

Croatia will be part of the tournament’s first game, against hosts Brazil, later playing Cameroon and Mexico in Group A.
