Bale: Next year will be better

Gareth Bale has said that while his first year at Real Madrid has been good, he expects better from next season.

The Wales international was speaking from Jakarta, where he has been on a promotional tour.

AS report that Bale was greeted by a big crowd who took pictures with the winger, before he spoke to the Press from the city’s Ritz-Hilton hotel.

“I’m very happy at Real Madrid and I’m sure next year will be better,” he said when asked about his debut campaign at Santiago Bernabeu.

Bale made 44 appearances last season for Los Blancos, scoring 22 goals as Madrid came third in La Liga and clinched the Champions League and Copa del Rey, Bale scoring in the finals of both tournaments.

But Bale will play no part in the World Cup after Wales failed to qualify. When asked about the national team, Bale insisted he would do everything he could to get Chris Coleman’s side to future competitions.

“I’m very proud to be from my country and I will fight for Wales to get to the top and participate in future major tournaments,” he added.
