Chile beat Egypt in WC warm-up

Spain’s World Cup group stage opponents Chile prepared for the tournament with a 3-2 win over Egypt on Friday.

The South Americans were two goals down before Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez took charge, creating all three of his team’s goals.

Eduardo Vargas, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Valencia, netted twice in the second-half after Marcelo Diaz pulled a goal back before half-time.

Mohamed Salah and Khaled Kamar were on target for the Pharaohs.

Egypt nearly claimed a late equaliser, only for Ibrahim Abdul-Khaleq’s effort to be cleared off the line.

Chile begin Group B against Australia as Spain meet the Netherlands before the two La Rojas meet on June 18 in the Maracana.
