Dani Carvajal has revealed his disappointment at not being part of Spain’s World Cup squad but took heart from being in the reckoning.
Carvajal was named in the preliminary 30-man squad by Vicente Del Bosque but left out of the final 23 when it was announced on Saturday.
The Real Madrid right-back used Twitter to share his thoughts on the decision, AS reports, and appeared to be taking it well.
“A shame not to be on the final list, still very proud to have been close,” he wrote.
“The best of luck to the Spain team.”
