Del Bosque reveals tough WC choices

Vicente Del Bosque has revealed he was ‘upset’ leaving out the likes of Jose Maria Callejon from his provisional World Cup squad.

The Roja boss named his 30-man list earlier in the week, with several top young players left at home for the tournament.

Callejon, Inigo Martinez, Marc Bartra and Iker Muniain were all excluded despite impressive seasons, and the Coach has admitted that it was tough leaving good players out of his squad.

“Do you really think it hasn’t upset me to have had to leave people out?” he told reporters.

“It’s impossible to put everyone on the list who deserves it.

“I won’t give explanations about the players I didn’t include, that would be a mistake.

“Callejon is one of the players we talked about. We always keep up to date with what he is doing, especially as Rafa Benitez is there. For us it is a daily thing.”
