Former Spain Under-21 boss Julen Lopetegui is the favourite to replace Luis Castro at Porto, according to reports.
The ex-Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper was in charge of the Roja youngsters between 2012 and 2014, winning the European Championships in 2013.
And Radio Marca have claimed that the Portuguese outfit have been impressed by the 47-year-old’s style of play and man-management, and will offer him the chance to cut his teeth in club management next term.
The Dragoes are third in the League having fallen behind Benfica and Sporting Lisbon in the standings, and will dismiss Castro as a result over the summer.
