Paco Jemez blasted Rayo Vallecano’s defence after they lost 3-0 to Athletic Bilbao, calling it ‘shameful’.
The Franjirrojos lost to Los Leones on Friday night thanks to goals from Mikel San Jose, Oscar De Marcos and Ander Herrera.
But the Coach thought his side were at fault for all of the strikes.
“We competed well, but we lacked fluency,” he told a Press conference. “And against a team like Athletic, you can’t afford to do that.
“The worst part of our game was our defending at set pieces – it was shameful, horrible.
“The first two goals were our fault, there’s no doubt about that.
“They were much better than us – no complaints about that.”
