Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has claimed that Tito Vilanova was an ‘inspiration’ following his sad passing on Friday.
The former Blaugrana Coach lost his lengthy battle to cancer yesterday, aged just 45.
And the defender has admitted that this is a ‘hard time’ for everyone at Camp Nou.
“It is a very hard time,” he told the club’s official website.
“It's been a two and a half year fight in which Tito was an example to everyone. He fought until the last day, the last moment, always with a smile on his face and strength
“When you spoke to him he gave you inspiration, inspiration to us all to fight.
“He was an example for all of us and it is a very sad day. We want to be by the family's side and send them all our support.
“We are here for anything they might need.”
