Barcelona legend Carles Puyol could be set to make a shock return to professional football, according to a report in Sport.
The 36-year-old retired last year after a glittering career with the Catalans and rumours are growing that he may be about to make a comeback, with Qatar and the United States both possible destinations.
A knee injury forced Puyol’s retirement from the game but he has believed to have been training recently to keep up his physical fitness, and is hopeful the break will have given his knee some respite.
It is reported he already has an offer from Colorado Rapids on the table and has also received proposals from Qatar, although it is claimed he would prefer a move to America.
Puyol’s last game for Barca was in March 2014 against Almeria and he began this season working for the club behind the scenes with Andoni Zubizarreta.
