Pizzi: Valencia need three points

Juan Antonio Pizzi is targeting a victory for Valencia against struggling Elche on Sunday.

The Coach told a pre-match Press conference that it is important Los Che capitalise on the momentum of beating Basel 5-0 in the Europa League in midweek.

“It’s a good opportunity because the players and fans have a big soul and we have to take advantage of the rush to take the game forward,” Marca reports the Argentine as saying.

“We need three points. I’ve seen the last matches of Elche and they’re in an extreme situation like most of our recent opponents.

“It’ll be a tough game and we will have tactical weapons besides mentally focusing on what the game means for us.”

Pizzi also touched on the form of Paco Alcacer, who scored a hat-trick in the romp over the Swiss side.

“There’s a door in Spain to the top and he has to use it,” Pizzi said.

“Regarding the national team, I don’t think Vicente Del Bosque has lost sight of him although there are many strikers in the team.”
