Juan Antonio Pizzi has expressed his joy at seeing Valencia come back from 3-0 down to eliminate Basel from the Europa League.
The Swiss side held the advantage from the first-leg but a 5-0 win at Mestalla on Thursday, with a hat-trick from Paco Alcacer, put Los Che in the semi-final draw.
“These are the nice things about football and life,” the Coach said after the match, according to Mundo Deportivo.
“The atmosphere was fundamental and it encouraged us to put in so much effort.
“Despite being on the edge you have to play so hard you risk it going wrong.
“You can win or lose but it’s difficult for it to go wrong.
“I’m happy for the win and for being in the semi-finals. We were better than our opponent for 135 of the 180 minutes but we still needed extra-time.
“But I am so excited for the win.
“I want to thank the Mestalla for its support. In life we have dreams and we live through them.
“This was mine but it’s true however much confidence you have, the reality told us there were many difficulties.”
