Pele has named Barcelona as the team he would most like to play for in today’s game.
The iconic former Brazil international was asked by Time magazine which club he would choose if he was playing today.
“I would play for Barca,” Mundo Deportivo reports Pele replying.
“I could play for two or three teams but right now I’d choose Barca because their style of play is most similar to the style of play in my day at Santos.”
Pele admitted, however, that if he could play for any team in any timeframe he would choose the Santos team he was part of.
He also claimed that with the advances in football since his time as a player, such as shin guards, he would be even more successful now than he was in his career.
