Emery excited for Europa League

Sevilla Coach Unai Emery has said he is excited for his side’s prospects in the Europa League after eliminating Porto last night.

Los Rojiblancos were trailing 1-0 from the first-leg but took a 4-0 win at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, despite having Coke sent off shortly after the hour mark.

“We are very excited about this competition and after this match I’m proud of the team,” Mundo Deportivo reports Emery as saying.

“We’re working hard and we want to have a good season. From the beginning we have said ‘we want, we want,’

“We must continue on this path and know we have to give the best of us.

“We’re very happy but we’re also cautious because there is still a long way to go in this competition.

“We have to go step by step.”

Emery was asked for his thoughts on the crowd against Porto and also if he has any preference for an opponent in today’s semi-final draw.

“It’s great that the hopes of the fans became a reality and we did it with the support of our fans, who always help us,” Emery said.

“It is very nice but at this point there are no references. We have to work hard and enjoy it.

“We need our people behind us because this is the result.”
