Canales will celebrate Valencia goal

Sergio Canales has said he will celebrate if he scores for Real Sociedad against Valencia on Sunday.

Canales moved to La Real from Los Che in the January transfer window and told Mundo Deportivo that since the game is at Anoeta, he would celebrate if he was on the score sheet.

“If I score I’ll celebrate since it’s an Anoeta, but respectfully, to my opponent and my friends,” Canales said.

“It’d be different at Mestalla. I have a lot of respect for them.

“Valencia is a great club that I will never speak ill of because they treated me very well.

“They backed me a great deal despite my injuries. But it changed a lot when those who backed me left.

“I never wanted to leave Valencia but circumstances made it happen,” Canales continued.

“I had a very good relationship with the club and the fans. I respect Valencia a lot and I’m grateful to them.

“The fans were very good with me.”

Canales added that despite his affection for Valencia he was eager to help his current club to victory.

“I’ll play against them with all the enthusiasm in the world to get the three points.

“I’m happy [to be at La Real] and I want to help.”
