Mathieu: Valencia respect Ludogorets

Valencia’s Jeremy Mathieu has insisted that although Los Che don’t know much about Europa League opponents Ludogorets, they still respect them.

Mathieu and company have travelled to Bulgaria for the first leg of the tie against Ludogorets, who knocked out Serie A side Lazio in the prior round.

Speaking at a pre-match Press conference, Mathieu said Valencia are confident but won’t look past their opponents.

“We’ve come here with respect for Ludogorets although we don’t know much about them, but they knocked out Lazio,” Mathieu confirmed.

“We’re confident but we have to focus on the game and nothing more. From what I’ve seen Ludogorets are a strong team.”

Mathieu added that his objectives for the rest of the season were clear.

“I want to get through the transitions of this year and by the end of the campaign, get to the Europa League final,” the Frenchman said.
