Real Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adan has confirmed the team have practiced how to defend set-pieces with Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic in mind.
Adan spoke at a Press conference prior to the Europa League meeting between the sides and revealed he was wary of the Rojiblancos captain’s delivery.
“We’ve worked hard all week and we know their strengths,” Adan said.
“We know they have a great striker of a ball in Rakitic. They’re very good from set-pieces and score a lot of goals that way.
“We have to keep going the way we have in our recent games, where we’ve conceded very few goals from set-pieces.”
Adan added that he and Betis were relishing the occasion of playing a local rival in such a prestigious competition.
“Both teams deserve to be here and Betis definitely deserve these kinds of games,” he continued.
“We’re very happy we get to play in this competition and we’ll enjoy a game like Thursday’s even more.”
