Barca offer Pedro new deal

Barcelona have opened talks with Pedro over a new contract, with the winger’s current deal due to expire in 2016.

AS reports that Pedro’s buyout clause will remain at €150m but the Spain international will see an improvement in terms and he is not a player considered for sale this summer.

However, the report adds that if an interested party makes a substantial offer to the Camp Nou hierarchy for Pedro’s services, he could be allowed to leave.

But sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has already started talks with Pedro’s representative in an effort to conclude a deal sooner rather than later, to avoid any complications.

Pedro has made 32 appearances for Barca this season, scoring 14 goals, and is rated by AS as a certainty to go to the World Cup under Vicente Del Bosque.
