Wales manager Chris Coleman believes Gareth Bale will prove himself to be a better player than compatriot Ryan Giggs over time.
The Real Madrid man scored a wonder goal in Wales’ 3-1 friendly victory over Iceland last night in Cardiff.
“What Gareth does on the pitch is extraordinary,” Coleman said to the media. “With him in our team know we always have a good chance.
“He has shown it again. What he did in the match was worth the fans’ admission fee alone.
“They saw something very special.
“I’ve played with Ryan Giggs and I always said he was the best player I ever played with, but I honestly think Bale will be better over time.
“He is more dynamic and direct than Ryan.
“This is nothing against Ryan, who was a truly great player, but I just think Gareth will be number one.”
