Xavi Hernandez has commented on Diego Costa’s integration into the Spain squad, claiming everyone is very happy with his arrival.
The Atletico Madrid striker has been called up for his first La Roja squad after declaring he will play for his adopted nation over Brazil.
And the Barcelona midfielder has revealed that the forward has introduced himself seamlessly.
“Diego is very happy to be here,” he told TVE. “And we’re all very happy that he’s joined. He’s adapted very quickly to the group.
“He’s a cheerful guy, really, really funny. He’ll definitely add something.”
The veteran then commented on whether he’ll be around for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and Fernando Torres and David Villa’s exclusion from international duty.
“I’m going to decide whether I’ll be around for the 2016 Euros soon. But I won’t get near the next World Cup.
“I’m thrilled to be going to Brazil, but after that we’ll have to see what happens.
“Fernando and David are important people who have been left at home, and obviously I feel bad for them because they’re my friends.
“But at the end of the day it’s the Coach who decides these things.”
