Gerard Pique has insisted that Barcelona are still at ‘the top level’ despite criticism of their recent performances.
The Blaugrana are currently second in the table behind Real Madrid, and were roundly attacked the weekend before last for their performance in the 3-1 loss to Real Sociedad.
The defender though, has claimed that his men are still one of the best in Europe.
“I think we’re still playing at the top level,” he told a Press conference.
“If you look at the statistics, we’ve conceded the least goals in the League and scored the most – I think that says a lot.”
The central defender then commented on plans for a new Camp Nou, and his special relationship with the club.
“The stadium issue is a complicated one. We have a lot of nostalgia for this stadium, but a new one would definitely make us grow.
“It’s up to the leaders to decide, but I think a remodelling would be good
“I’m very attached to this club. Even when I want to Manchester United, I knew I would return one day.
“It just feels natural to me to spend my footballing life here. I’ll do all I can to stay.”
