Spain left-back Jordi Alba has paid tribute to Carles Puyol, who has confirmed he is set to leave Barcelona in the summer.
The 24-year-old is a teammate of Puyol both at club and international level and says things will not be the same without him.
“When I first got called up by the national team and when I first arrived at Barcelona, he treated me fantastically,” Alba said when asked about the possibility of Puyol retiring earlier today.
“Puyol is a leader, everyone gets on with him and you won’t find another player as professional as he is.
“I haven’t spoken to him recently but it is a privilege to work with someone like him.”
