Casillas: We can go for the Treble

Iker Casillas hopes that Real Madrid can claim the Treble come the end of the season, but isn’t underestimating Schalke this week.

Los Blancos are currently top of the League, into the Copa del Rey final, and play the German outfit in the Champions League Last 16.

And the goalkeeper has admitted that the Gelsenkirchen side will pose a real challenge on Wednesday.

“I’d like to read that Real Madrid have won the treble,” he told Bwin.

“We know it is difficult because there are other teams that also want to win titles.

“Well Schalke are a German team, a side that is physically strong. They have one player: [Klaas-Jan] Huntelaar, who recently recovered from a serious injury, and I think they are dangerous rivals.

“We just have to enjoy the moment. This is what every footballer wants to play. I want to play these games because they are important.”

The goalkeeper was then asked how he would stop striker Klaa-Jan Huntelaar.

“How do we stop him? By playing as we have been in defence and allowing very few chances against us.

“We are solid in attack, with decisive players who are in good form, and that has to be our style.”
