Pizzi pleased by patience

Valencia Coach Juan Antonio Pizzi felt patience was a virtue after Los Che beat Granada 2-1 through Ruben Vezo’s late goal.

Vezo, making his first Liga start, scored in injury time to give his side victory and Pizzi told his post-match Press conference that it was important Valencia didn’t panic.

“We had to be patient and insist on doing the things we needed to score the goal,” Pizzi said.

“When you’re playing a team with a lot of people in defence it’s hard to get through.

“Their goal brought impatience and nerves and forced us to put in even more effort.”

Pizzi added that what also impressed him was Valencia’s effort considering they played in Europe on Thursday.

“It’s very respectable to put in that effort three days after playing in Europe,” Pizzi said.

“We deserve the win. I’m happy for the players.

“Paco Alcacer [scorer of the first goal] has always shown great willingness to train and work.”
