Getafe’s Garcia happy with point

Luis Garcia revealed he was pleased to see Getafe take a point against Celta Vigo, particularly after Lisandro Lopez was sent off.

Garica added that until the defender was dismissed, Getafe’s game had gone according to the pre-match plan.

“It was like two different games,” Garcia said after the match.

“Until the sending off the game was as we wanted it, like we had talked about with the players.

“Our opponents created no danger and we had four clear chances. Even at the start of the second half we created chances.

“I’m not saying we would have won [without the sending off] but we were where we wanted to be.”

Garcia went on to say that Lopez’s red card changed the game and made life more difficult for the visitors.

“After the sending off, we had to suffer a lot. It’s not easy to get a point here with 10 men and even less so against a good team like Celta.”

Getafe have now failed to win any of their last 10 League games, drawing three and losing seven, but Garcia insisted he was not afraid for his future as Coach.

“I’ve got to keep working to the maximum. It’s not my decision,” he said.

“This is a good point considering the bad run of results we’re on.”
