Nikos Karabelas is expected to sign a new contract with Levante having become a fixture in the side in recent weeks.
It was thought the Greek defender would leave at the end of the season as he has been out of favour under Joaquin Caparros for much of the season.
But prior to suffering an injury, Karabelas was given a run in the side and impressed enough to convince Les Granotes to extend his contract, AS has reported.
Karabelas didn’t feature at Ciutat de Valencia until November but since then has played nine times, although he was sent off against Sevilla at the end of January.
The 29-year-old isn’t expected to be available to play Real Valladolid but his agent is due for talks with Levante soon.
